I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Good health and happiness to all and good weather and low gas prices for Cruisin’ this summer.

The Rookery

The theme for this past year was a pajama party.  The costumes were plentiful and very unique. As outgoing President, Rick Hill was awarded a new jacket with all years listed that he has served as our President.  We played ‘What’s in the Box” with Rick Roman and Alicia Hrovat correctly identifying the contents.  The steaks were generous and the dishes that we shared were the best. We were entertained by a DJ who also played his drum set along with the music; karaoke style.  The club passed out NOCCC 2008 mugs to all in attendance. We have secured the next date for the Rookery for Nov 7, 2009.

SWAP MEET

We have a confirmed date for our Swap Meet – February 22, 2009.  I have mailed out flyers to our past vendors.  Call Paula or send her an e-mail if you want a swap meet spot.  We have 65/88 spots sold. Mark your calendars for this event because we will need your help.  Set up will be February 21st. Please plan to attend both days.  Your help is valued by all. This is our only money making event for the club all year. Parking may be an issue. We will probably need a couple of volunteers to be outside handling the traffic.

JANUARY MEETING

Our January meeting will be held on January 18, 2009 at Solon Pizza Hut at  34165 Aurora Rd. Solon, OH; Corner of Route 91 and Route 43

{Pizza Hut # (440) 349-3656)

If you need further directions, please call John Miller or Paula Vollman.

John Miller has suggested that everyone bring their ideas for events next year to our January meeting. If it’s a car show or cruise, bring the event name and date to the meeting.

Word has it that there are big changes at Ecklers as with many businesses throughout the country. A large number of staff were let go, including some of the well known folks. Perhaps we’ll read more of this in the national magazine. Supposedly, Danchuk has also cut a large number of staff per internet buzz.

POP’S    GARAGE

Many people associate James Dean with a Porsche. Did you know he owned a 1955 Chevy? Here he is seen signing an autograph in a Delray.
